POWER-POWER Offers Web Economic Resources.
POWER is a community service project offering volunteer and internship opportunities. Community service is based on people helping other people. BEV's focus is outreach through technology. Volunteers work with technology training, web design, and systems with Virginia e- villagers and non profit groups. We welcome volunteers for our Blacksburg, Virginia location and volunteers to work from home offices in other communities.
Telecommuting helps businesses cut costs, especially when workers live outside expensive urban areas. POWER hopes to see urban jobs filled by remote workers in rural Virginia.
Program highlights:
- Billboard websites are offered at no charge to get local businesses in participating counties into the information economy.
- Interns get hands on experience in a professional IT services and web design environment.
- Training on site design and management is offered to county Technology Leadership Teams and Virginia Cooperative Extension agents.

Web Design:
Interns work with TOP villagers and non- profit organizations to provide no- cost web development.
Web Systems:
Interns work on more technical projects for BEV and other non- profit organizations.
Grassroots:
Interns work on site with local Technology Leadership Teams to promote community involvement with the information economy.
